Do you have background or interest in technology and want to get involved helping out your local government? Come to our next meeting on October 8th!
The Rhinebeck Technology Committee assists the town and village governments in evaluating and implementing technologies that impact the municipalities, and makes recommendations on information systems policy.
Waterfront Day Celebration Volunteers needed
The Town is seeking volunteers to help at the Waterfront Day celebration at the Dock on Aug 16th . Set up is from 8am to 10:30am Celebration to start at 11am and go to 4pm with clean up/break down from 4 to 5:30 pm. Any one interested can contact Cathy Washburn at 876-2244 or cathyw876@aol.com
Child Safety Awareness Programs Scheduled
RHINEBECK TOWN SUPERVISOR TOM TRAUDT
Announces a summer program aimed at providing services to families of our community in collaboration with the DUTCHESS COUNTY SHERIFF and the DUTCHESS COUNTY TRAFFIC SAFETY BOARD. Throughout each month of the summer, the Town of Rhinebeck will host a number of services including CHILD PASSENGER SAFETY SEAT INSTALATIONS, CHILD IDS and other developing services. Thus far services scheduled are as followed:

Sub-committee to expand recreation activities
The Town Recreation Committee is interested in expanding the array of recreational activities available for adults in our community. Recreation is not just for the young…adults need fun in their lives too.
Village Seeking Road Name Suggestions
The Village of Rhinebeck Board of Trustees is seeking suggestions on naming the road into the Starr Library and Thompson-Mazzarrella Rec. Park. Please send suggestions by 4:00 pm June 10, 2008, to Village Clerk Gail Haskins at village.clerk@rhinebeck-ny.gov. Thank you.

Town Transfer Station Accepts New Containers, Batteries
PLASTIC
LDPE #4, PP#5 (i.e.: yogurt, cottage cheese and some take-out containers) and OTHER #7
Please discard the cap or lid in the garbage and rinse the container before putting it in the collection bin.
NOTE: #4, #5, and #7 are now collected in addition to the previously collected PETE #1 and HDPE #2 plastics.

The Conservation Advisory Council is helping Cornell Cooperative Extension of Dutchess County promote two local events in April:
No Idling Policy Passed
The Conservation Advisory Council is pleased to announce that the Rhinebeck Central School District has recently adopted a NO-IDLING policy.
Please be aware of this new regulation and turn your engines off while waiting or parked at the RHS/BMS or Chancellor campus.
Remember: IDLING GETS YOU NOWHERE

Focus the Nation will stream a free, live, interactive webcast of "The 2% Solution" being shown locally:

Resolution Stating Polling Place for Village Election
Please take notice that at the regular monthly board meeting of the Village Board of Trustees, for the Village of Rhinebeck, N.Y., held on January 8, 2008, the following resolution was offered by Trustee James Reardon and seconded by Trustee Brenda Klaproth and unanimously adopted:
The next general Village election for officers will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. No person shall be entitled to vote in this election unless they are registered with the County Board of Elections and on the County Voter Registration List. Residents of the Village of Rhinebeck must register with the County Board of Elections by March 7th, 2008 to get on the county list for the March 18th, 2008 Village election. If you are already registered with the county at your current address, you do not have to register with the county to vote. The Village of Rhinebeck no longer holds a Village Registration Day.
Voting for the forthcoming election shall be conducted on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 from noon to 9:00 p.m., at the Rhinebeck Town Hall, 80 East Market St., Rhinebeck, N.Y. The Town Hall is handicapped accessible.

Village Hall Holiday Hours - December 2007
The Village of Rhinebeck Village Hall will be closing on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at 12pm. The office will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at 9am.

Rebuilding Together Dutchess County (formerly XMAS in April) is beginning its 17th year of providing home repairs for low income homeowners in our county. Applications are available in the Town Clerk’s office and must be filed by Nov. 30, 2007. Please call Barb Cunningham, 876-3409 for further information.
