Town Board of Assessment Review
The Board of Assessment Review is comprised of volunteer residents.They review and render decisions on appeals submitted by property owners who disagree with the assessment place on their property by the assessors. The Board considers such appeals on Grievance Day, annually the 4th Tuesday in the month of May, and typically finalizes a decision shortly afterward. The process for filing an appeal includes completing a short form and submitting it to the Assessor's Office. While attendance at Grievance Day is not required, it is recommended. Forms must be submiited prior to the end of Grievance hours to be considered. Property owners are advised to submit their completed form 10 business days before Grievance Day.
