Meeting Minutes

 

Present: Tom Connolly, Sarah Hanaburgh, David Miller, Bruce Washburn, Katie Clark

Absent: Rhonda Hammond, John Imperato, Joe Kupiec

Meeting started at 7:00pm at Town Hall

 

New Business

  • Motion by David, seconded by Tom to January 27, 2011 meeting minutes. All in favor, Rhonda will email to Joan for web posting.
  • News: Baptist Home Camp run by Northern Dutchess Daycare rates are 2x as much as our camp. Bard summer camp is closing - lots of new interest in our camp
  • Race:
    • Some confusion regarding the point people for the RunningAway liaisons. Sarah and David will make it clear that the Rec Committee is organizing this
    • Need to request a budget breakdown (advertisements, % to charity, registration fee, where money goes, etc.), and an outline of tasks
    • Need to determine who the appointed donation organization is and what the process will be for determining this if it has not been chosen
    • RunningAway is visiting on April 14 - Mayor and Sgt. Dun will be available for questions and touring. Sarah and David will also be available
  • Website - Katie has been trained on how to update the website and will start to make changes in the coming weeks
  • Summer Programs:
    • Swim Team Board will hire and Rec will ratify the decision
    • Need to check on guard rotation regulations (Sarah and Katie)
    • Need to determine the pay rate for counselors (Katie)
    • Diving boards have been sent out for resurfacing - back at the end of June
  • Disc Golf: We should develop a program or a league/tournament to help introduce the new equipment and familiarize people to the sport
  • Hoe Down - Fiddlers are not available for Halloween - are available on 11/5. Sarah will book them
  • Multiple requests for adult recreation (softball, soccer, basketball). We should have a conversation with the Anderson School about using their property
    • RHS has open gym on Tuesdays?
  • Recreation Phone is still not available. Messages are being checked remotely every few days. Bruce will see if he can hurry the process along.
  • REMINDER: Pool Interviews from 6-9 on March 23 and March 24 at Town Hall
