Meeting Minutes

Present:  Bruce Washburn, Rhonda Hammond, Tom Connolly, Sarah Hanaburgh, David Miller, Katie Clark, Joe Kupiec and Nancy Rifenburgh

Absent: John Imperato

Meeting started at 7:00pm at Town Hall

New Business

• Motion by David seconded by Joe to approve July 6, 2011 meeting minutes. All in favor, Rhonda will email to Katie for posting.
• Swim Lessons - Nancy R. advised the American Red Cross now has a $5 fee for each swimmer. Also the cards saying passed are also expensive. She is asking parents if they really want the cards and if not saving them for others. We addressed the fee and next year increases in swim lesson pricing must happen.
• Pool - Lifeguards were starting at 12 pm. They now start at 12:30 and must be in their chairs (ALL of them) by 1 pm. It was brought to the committee's attention that a lifeguard wrote 12 pm on his card and was not on the premises at that time. This lifeguard is Eamon Graziano. The committee voted to suspend him for a two week period. Also, lifeguards are doing private swim lessons at the pool. Motion by Rhonda and seconded by David to say "No private swim lessons by employees without the permission of the Recreation Director". All in favor - unanimous Motion Carried
• Camp - Camp is sold out. Committee approved the opening of 10 more slots with a $5 fee for resident and a $10 fee for non-resident. Registration closed July 29^th at end of business and all monies must be collected at that time. Katie will advise parents that are on the waiting list.
• Camp employees - it has come up that salaried employees for camp are taking vacation and time off. Any salaried employee's pay will be adjusted for the time taken off. The letter to employees stated the 7 week program and that money was for working those times.
• Katie will work on the employee handbook the detail this "salaried" issue.
• Camp - employees writing down working from 8:30 to 4:30 when they are not getting there at that time and leaving before 4:30. Katie will advise Larie that this cannot happen and a director must be there sign in./ out employees.
• Swim Team is requesting their annual end of year function at the pool pavilion. Rhonda will speak to Kurt about this. (Rhonda spoke to Kurt only around 30 use the pool - it was decided via email of committee that they can have their function on August 7^th 5 to 7:30 pm)
• Meeting now went into executive session.
