July 6, 2011

Meeting Minutes

 

Present:  Bruce Washburn, Rhonda Hammond, Tom Connolly, Sarah Hanaburgh, David Miller, Katie Clark and John Imperato

 

Absent: Joe Kupiec

 

Meeting started at 7:00pm at Town Hall

 

New Business

  • Motion by Tom seconded by David to approve May 25, 2011 meeting minutes. All in favor, Rhonda will email to Katie for posting.
  • Summer Programs - All is going well. Problems with parents wanting to register their child the weekend before camp starts. This registration must be done at least 5 days before for nurse authorization. Everyone seems to like the new camp atmosphere.
  • Pool - One cashier has left and another hired. We need to be on a 5 lifeguard rotation per our budget (except for holidays). Katie will discuss with Erin.
  • Pavilions - Rhonda advised what requests we have had. It was decided that no bouncy houses were to be brought in. Need to implement a policy for the pavilion next to pool. Will discuss next meeting. Also discussed putting in budget fencing for pool pavilion so we can profit from it in 2012.
  • Budget- Bruce passed out info for budget 2012 all members will look over and send Bruce our recommendations. Painting of the pool house needs to be done.
  • Calendar of Events for 2012 - will discuss in greater detail next meeting.
  • Marathon - Sarah will tell Matt that the recreation committee will not be a part of this marathon at all.
  • Tennis - Joe was not in attendance to discuss.
  • Disc Golf - Fields are not ready as of yet. Bruce has been mowing the trails by himself. Must put mowing in 2012 budget.
  • Basketball and Gymnastics - 2011/2012 - Katie will work on grant info. Also, participants will need to pay a nominal fee.
  • Sarah is now teaching the Wednesday Masters Class. Motion by John seconded by David.
    • Reimburse Sarah at the lifeguard Connor Murray salary for her teaching the Masters Class Wednesday's July 6th through August 17, 2011 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. All in favor - motion passed.
  • Rhonda discussed that the counselors and lifeguards should park on the last row next to the gardens instead of the parking spots closer to the pool so that parents have better access.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 9:30pm
